Dr. Theo Fowles

California Program Director

As California Program Director, I lead curriculum development, network and community building for Scholars and Mentor Coaches, and the overall growth of the ANY-CA program.

Why I am passionate about the ANY mission: I am the first of my immediate family to graduate from college, and I couldn’t have done it without a network of support.  I’m excited to be a part of that support network for our Scholars!

My personal motto: “Stay Motivated. Rise Together.” This reminds me to find my internal drivers for success and to celebrate and support others in their successes as well.

Reach out to me with questions about: networking, navigating the college experience, or just to brainstorm an idea!

More about me: Prior to working at ANY, I worked on campus at the University of Southern California, where I was the Center Supervisor for the Center for Black Cultural and Student Affairs. I served as an adviser to organizations like the Black Student Assembly and Black Graduate Student Network, while also providing one-on-one informal advising and championing broader diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.  My undergraduate degree is in Cinematic Arts, and my doctoral research explored how former foster youth use social media to navigate higher ed spaces.  I am a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
