Dan Fuller ANY Volunteer

He retired after 38 years in a leadership engineering role in Phoenix, Arizona. Seeking to remain active and contribute to society, Dan chose to volunteer. Discovering America Needs You online, he was drawn to our mission and the flexible volunteer opportunities. Given his experience mentoring other  professionals throughout his career, he felt it was a natural fit. Dan initially volunteered for a virtual mock interview event and was impressed by the Fellows he met. Enjoying the experience, he later traveled to Los Angeles to volunteer as a single-day Career Coach at a workshop. He found the work rewarding and engaging.

Dan Fuller, Volunteer at ANYDan sees great importance in the Fellows Program and has committed to being a Career Coach at another workshop in Los Angeles in May.

“For me, one of the outstanding things about volunteering for both the virtual mock interview and in-person workshop is that the students are so articulate. I don’t remember being as articulate at that age. It just really impressed me. Their knowledge base, their linguistics, and their ability to express their career objectives were outstanding. I really appreciated it. The ability to provide feedback to the Fellows and guidance based on my career was exciting.

Dan strongly believes in ANY’s mission. He tells his friends about the wonderful experience he has had volunteering for our Fellows Program.

“Every time someone asks me what I’m doing in retirement, I give them the five-minute speech about what I’m doing, which includes the ANY volunteering and how rewarding it is. I’m even thinking about traveling on vacation with my wife to New York and maybe timing it so that I can volunteer at another workshop there.”
