Purpose of this Toolkit

To introduce individuals and companies to America Needs You and help recruit volunteers. It is crucial to provide first-generation college students with access to career readiness training and bridge the network gap to ensure tomorrow’s leaders reflect the true diversity of our country.

How You Can Help

  • Sign up as a single day volunteer at an upcoming in-person or virtual event.
  • Share your ANY experience with others – we have email templates below you can customize!
  • Recruit a friend, family member, or colleague to be a Mentor Coach or single day volunteer.
  • Share flyers through emails with colleagues, neighbors (e.g., neighborhood association email blast), friends, and/or civic groups. We have provided several options below, but you can always email volunteers@americaneedsyou.org for unique email templates or printable flyers.
  • Send volunteer recruitment ideas (individuals, organizations) or funding ideas to ANY staff at volunteers@americaneedsyou.org.
  • Invite ANY to make a 5–20-minute virtual or in-person presentation to your workplace or community organization.
  • Follow and tag @americaneedsyou on social media and use hashtags #mentorshipmatters and #AmericaNeedsYou
  • Add America Needs You as a volunteer activity on your LinkedIn profile: Click “Edit Profile,” “Add Section,” and select “Volunteer Experience.” When you type “America Needs You,” LinkedIn will find our Company Page.
